Mission Statement for the Beef Tent:

            Education is the primary purpose of the Beef Tent – Education for the producer and the Consumer. Our mission is 3-fold:

            1.         Producer Education

            2.         Producer Communication

            3.         Consumer Information

 

There will be exhibits from the pasture to the plate in the 40 foot by 200 foot tent. It is a one-stop shop for producers and an information center on beef production for non-farm families.

 

Live animal exhibits representing the following breeds will be on display:

 

Other exhibitors at this time are Wisconsin Beef Council, Equity, Wisconsin Animal ID Consortium and Destron Fearing.

 

A special display area will feature beef information for children and youth. UW-River Falls students will be coordinators in the area.

 

Wisconsin Cattlemen will have membership information for the Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association with special emphasis on the legislative arena in Madison and Washington D.C. WCA will have displays for the Cattlemen’s Beef Board and the Beef Check Off, Wisconsin Cattlewomen and the American National Cattlewomen and Beef By Products.

 

Featured speakers will be announced shortly.

 

Plans are to have tours of the Beef Tent during the day to help visitors understand the Beef Industry.

 

Sponsors thus far for the Beef Tent in 2010 include Stronghold and Murray’s Dairy Farm and Refrigeration, American Foods Group, Kraft, Equity, Livingston State Bank, Premier Coop, Green County Beef Producers, Richland County Beef Producers, Dave Koning, Pfizer and DNT Farms.
